The galleries
The first country to mint coins in the Arabian peninsula, Oman has a rich currency history. This gallery houses rare Islamic coins which were used in Oman and the Islamic World.
With a rich trading and seafaring history, Muscat has played an important role in the history of the region. This gallery displays several old and rare paintings, maps and documents which outline Muscat’s history.
In the 1700s Oman’s influence spread from Gwadar in Baluchistan to Zanzibar and east Africa. This gallery focuses on the East African chapter of that period.
Discover the history and legacy of the Royal Al Said family of Oman, one of the highlights of this gallery is the impressive collection of rare royal family photos, and khanjars, which date back to the 17th century, these intricate and beautiful pieces offer a glimpse into the opulence and grandeur of Oman’s royal past.
This gallery offers a unique glimpse into the country’s rich history of diplomacy and trade. The gallery showcases a wide range of artifacts, documents, and maps that illustrate Oman’s relations with other countries and cultures throughout history.

ADMISSION
We offer two tour options for visitors to explore the exhibits:
Self-Guided Tour: This option allows visitors to explore the museum at their own pace. Visitors can take their time to view the exhibits, read the information provided and take in the museum’s atmosphere.
Guided Tour: Led by the owner of the museum, who is a knowledgeable curator, this tour offers more insights and information about the artifacts on display.

Both options provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about Oman’s history and culture, but the guided tour option offers a more in-depth experience with the added benefit of expert interpretation and insight from the owner of the museum. Groups of 10 or more are recommended to take the guided tour option for a more organized and enjoyable experience. Who is he?
Welcome to Bait Adam Museum, a private museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history and culture of Oman. Our museum is the passion project of our curator and owner, Abdullatif Al Balushi, who has spent a lifetime collecting and studying the artifacts on display here.
