About Us

Our story

Our story began with a passion for collecting and preserving Oman’s rich history and culture. Our founder and curator, Abdullatif, has been collecting for over 40 years, starting with stamps and eventually expanding to include a wide range of items such as artifacts, antiques and other cultural treasures. He has traveled the world to acquire unique and rare items for the museum, attending auctions and building relationships with other collectors. The museum’s collection now includes a wide variety of artifacts, from ancient pottery and coins to traditional weapons and jewelry.

His passion for preserving Oman’s heritage led him to open the museum in the year 2000, which is now run as a family business with the help of his two children. Together, they strive to provide visitors with an in-depth and personal experience of Oman’s history and culture, through their carefully curated collection of artifacts.

Abdullatif’s goal is to share his love and knowledge of Oman’s history and culture with visitors from all over the world. He takes great pride in personally guiding visitors through the museum, providing insights and answering questions about the exhibits, the museum has received numerous awards and recognition for its unique collection and dedication to preserving Oman’s cultural heritage.
